DAY TRIPS

These are all private trips…. Let me know what may interest you. You could also decide to spend a night at one of these places instead of just a day trip.

A day out in the Pampa

A 90 minute drive from the city, visit a ranch, have a nice barbecue, and go horseback riding with the Gauchos (cowboys).

Two preferred estancias (ranches) are:

  • La Bamba de Areco is the most deluxe estancia around Buenos Aires. It is located near the gaucho village of San Antonio de Areco. If doing a day trip, you would visit the village first with a local guide and then go to the estancia for a nice lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Alternatively, you can spend a day and night at the estancio.
  • La Candelaria del Monte.   This estancia is more authentic and personalized. The owner, Sebastian, welcome personally our clients.  This is a great place to go horseback riding in the countryside!

Recently had clients stay at Estancia La Bandada, and they loved it. This is probably the most reasonably priced, but just lovely.

A day in the Delta of the river

Surrounded by Lush vegetation, Tigre is the city (1h15 away from Buenos Aires) where Porteños (the inhabitants of the city) go on weekend for some “green” time.

The best way to explore it is to rent a private barge or boat and navigate through the numerous channels on the river, between the islands.

For a more active option: you can kayak! You can combine a Delta half day with a tour through El Tigre.

Visit Colonia in Uruguay

Located on the other side of the rive “el rio de la plata”, across from Buenos Aires, the ancient city of Colonia del Sacramento is an unforgettable visit for people who love history and architecture. Visiting Colonia means reliving the river’s turbulent and melancholic past at the end of the 17th century. This city was once a walled fortress that protected the entrance to the Rio de la Plata, during colonial times. The city has been restored and declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

To get there you need to take a 1 hour ferry boat from Buenos Aires. Once arriving in Colonia, a local Uruguayan guide will wait for you to spend the day in the city.

A fun way to explore it is biking! We recommend go for the day or spend the overnight there. If you want to explore further, you could stay another night at the vineyard area of Carmelo (1 hour from Colonia).  In Colonia is the Narbona Wine Lodge, a Relais & Chateaux property, which  is fabulous. Campotinto is another great place to stay.

Narbona actually has two restaurants in Miami area which are outstanding! I go to Narbona in Coconut Grove every time I go to Miami, which is about every 6 weeks.
