While no longer on the menu, ask for the Gabbi roll- it is a local favorite!

Located down a cobblestone alley off Front Street, and hidden in one of the oldest wine cellars in Bermuda, Ruby Murry’s serves authentic Indian cuisine in a relaxed and comfortable environment. The menu focuses on traditional North Indian favorites such as Lamb Vindaloo and Tikka Masala, but also offers less well-known dishes from other parts of India, such as Nalli Goscht, a slow braised lamb shank with green chili, ginger, onion and tomato, and an amazing Goan Coconut Fish Curry. Ruby Murry’s offers many excellent vegetarian and vegan options as well, and is an ideal spot for large groups. Locals recommend gathering a group of friends, ordering family style, and trying a little bit of everything!

There is a battle in Bermuda over who serves the best fish sandwich! Woody’s, a small side-of-the-road bar and kitchen, is one of the absolute top contenders, AND heralded winner by locals! Located on Boaz Island in Somerset, this super casual restaurant and bar is the perfect spot to grab a beer, a world famous Fish Sandwich, and sit outside at a picnic table and take in the breeze and views of Boaz Bay. If you’re not in the mood for the famous traditional Bermudian Fish Sandwich, served fried on raisin bread with coleslaw and tartar sauce, or better yet, just want to try a few more dishes, the Conch Fritters, Fried Shrimp, and Jerk Chicken are also local favorites. Know that the menu changes daily depending on what was caught that day- everything is fresh here! To get to Woody’s you can easily take a boat, as they have a dock, or hop on a moped or taxi.

Note to make sure and plan for a ride back if you take a taxi, as there are not always taxis available in the area.

The other main contender on the island for the Best Fish Sandwich in Bermuda is Art Mel’s, a take-out only seafood spot located off the beaten path, on a steep hill in Hamilton. Since there is nowhere to dine, Locals recommend taking a taxi to get food and then taking the taxi back to enjoy your meal. Art Mel’s famous Fish Sandwich is served Bermudian style with fried fish, hot sauce, tartar sauce, and coleslaw, all on thick slices of raisin bread. The sandwich is massive, and one can easily feed two people! Art Mel’s also serves excellent Fried Chicken, and their incredible Gingerbread is top notch!
